Theme: Apples

2-3 fiction and non-fiction books about apples, apple trees, how they grow, fall, etc.

Sound/Movement
Choose 2 or 3 Apple Songs and Fingerplays

Craft
*Make a finger print apple tree

You'll need:
brown, green and red paint or stamp pads
paper

Use the side of your child's hand to make the trunk of the tree, thumbs to make the leaves and fingers to make the apples.

*You can extend the activity above by making a seasons of apple trees picture. Explain (and show) what the tree looks like in each season then use fingerprints to make each one.

Sensory Bin
Movin' apples

You'll need:
red, green and yellow pom poms
tongs (make sure they are not too difficult for your child to squeeze)
plastic containers

Move the apples from one container to the next. You can also sort them by color or size.
